The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is a very important event that will take the world by surprise. His second coming is as certain as His first. The first coming of the Lord Jesus was for the salvation of humanity, as He died on the cross as a ransom for them. His second coming, however, will be for judgment, as He will judge the whole world. The most important verses about this topic are written in: – **Matthew 24:25, 27**: “See, I have told you ahead of time… (27) For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” – **Revelation 19:11-13**: “(11) I saw heaven standing open, and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. (12) His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. (13) He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.” – **1 Thessalonians 5:2**: “For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” There are signs of the second coming of the Lord Jesus, including: – Wars, famines, and earthquakes will increase. – Corruption and injustice will grow. – False prophets will come in the name of Christ and deceive many. – The gospel will be preached throughout the world. – There will be great persecution of true believers in various places. – The world will live in sorrow, misery, and fear. These are some verses from **1 Thessalonians 4:15-17**, which speak about the rapture of Christians to meet their Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ: “(15) According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. (16) For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. (17) After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” And these are other verses from **Luke 21:25-27**, which speak about the coming of the Lord Jesus for the judgment of those who do not believe in His redemption: “(25) There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. (26) People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. (27) At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” As we read in **Revelation 20:11-13, 15** about the judgment of non-believers at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth: “(11) Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. (12) And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. (13) The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done… (15) Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” Here we have mentioned some points, but these truths are found in the Bible. It is better to study them deeply yourself from the Bible. How tragic it would be if the Lord Jesus Christ came suddenly, and you were not ready to meet Him. What are the signs that the end of the world is near? Many people talk about the end of the world and set close dates. Here are the signs mentioned in the Bible: – **The coming of the Antichrist**: This is clearly stated by St. Paul the Apostle: “Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God… whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan works. He will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-10). – **The great apostasy**: This will result from the miracles that the Antichrist will perform by the power of Satan, leading many to believe in him and forsake the true faith. This apostasy is also mentioned in the previous verse (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Additionally, “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1 Timothy 4:1). This apostasy will be widespread and severe, as the Lord says: “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect, those days will be shortened” (Matthew 24:22). While there have been many apostasies throughout history, this general and severe apostasy resulting from the Antichrist’s miracles has not yet occurred. – **False Christs and false prophets**: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Matthew 24:24). This will also contribute to the apostasy. About those difficult days, the Lord says, “Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations” (Revelation 20:7-8). – **The salvation of the Jews**: This refers to their belief in Christ at the end of the times of the Gentiles. When St. Paul the Apostle spoke about the faith of the Jews and then the entry of the Gentiles into the faith (the wild olive branch being grafted into the natural olive tree), he said, “How much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!” (Romans 11:16-24). He then explicitly said, “…a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:25-26), referring to their spiritual salvation as they come to faith. – **The dissolution of nature**: After the dissolution of the powers of nature, the Lord says, “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds” (Matthew 24). This is the end. **Comments on these signs**: It is clear that the Antichrist and his miracles have not yet appeared, nor has the general apostasy occurred. The Jews have not yet believed, and false Christs who perform signs and wonders have not yet appeared. The matter of wars and rumors of wars is merely the beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24:8-9).
